You are invited to join Christel DeHaan, Danish Punjabi Singer, Anita Lerche and the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre for an evening celebrating Indian culture, Christel House India and the individuals who have partnered with us in transforming lives.

ABOUT CHRISTEL HOUSE INDIA:

Christel House currently serves 1,300 students in Bangalore and Lavasa, India. The obstacles facing these Christel House students are daunting – daily exposure to drugs, alcoholism, hunger, abuse, negative role models, violence, suffering and discrimination – but every day our students come to school, learn, and set their sights on a better tomorrow. They have dreams, and while at Christel house, their aspiration is to make those dreams become a reality.  Nationally, less than 25% of students participate in higher education, whereas 85% of Christel House India graduates are pursuing higher education.

ABOUT ANITA:

We are extremely fortunate that Anita Lerche is donating her amazing talents to the children of Christel House. Anita is a singer-songwriter, composer and actress from Denmark. Although Anita has sung in a total of sixteen different languages, she is most passionate and renowned for her Punjabi work and was the first non-Asian woman from the West to release an album in Punjabi.

ABOUT THE GREGORY HANCOCK DANCE THEATRE:

Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre (GHDT) is a professional contemporary dance company that performs in a wide variety of styles that combine modern dance, ballet, pointe, theatre and ethnic dance forms to create a unique style with a sense of drama. Mr. Hancock has worked extensively with music and themes of India and has created a unique fusion of modern dance, classical dance of India and Bollywood style dance. The company has performed at numerous Indian events and has been embraced by the Indian community for its fresh take on Indian music and dance.
